About BullMQ
BullMQ is an open source job queue and message queue for Redis and PostgreSQL, with libraries for Node.js, Bun, Python, Rust, Elixir, PHP and .NET. It is MIT licensed and has over 9.7M weekly downloads on npm.
History
Manuel Astudillo released Bull, a Redis-based queue for Node.js, in 2013. In 2018 the team started BullMQ, a rewrite of Bull in TypeScript, and released it in 2019. Bull is still maintained for bug fixes, while new features go into BullMQ.
BullMQ is maintained by Manuel Astudillo and Rogger Valverde together with the open source contributors who send fixes and features on GitHub.
The companies behind BullMQ
The BullMQ team develops BullMQ, with its open source contributors, together with BullMQ Pro and the Taskforce.sh dashboard at its Swedish company, BullForce Labs AB. BullMQ Pro and Taskforce.sh are sold by the company's US subsidiary, Taskforce.sh Inc., which is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. The current controls are listed in the Trust Center.
Subscriptions to BullMQ Pro and Taskforce.sh fund the development of the open source BullMQ.
